Our ancient towns of Dover, Deal and Sandwich, are all very different in character but all linked by history and their strategic position on England’s south east coast.

The White Cliffs of Dover are internationally famous. The Gateway visitor centre introduces the visitor to five miles of coast & countryside with spectacular views of the English Channel and Port of Dover. Much of the chalk downland along the clifftops is classified as SSSI with interesting flora and fauna.
